The Umpol control units of type 755 are compact and very versatile control units for magnets of all kinds.
The polarity is reduced in the magnet and in the workpiece. Clamped parts can thus be easily removed from the magnet. Within their defined performance range, the pole-reversal control units can be configured and used for practically any type of magnet thanks to suitable parameters.
By using a modern digital signal processor, the transition from conventional voltage control to very precise current control has been achieved. The current control is characterized above all by a switching dynamics that goes to the physical limit and thus very fast clamping and polarity reversal processes. In addition, the repeatability of clamping and polarity reversal processes is significantly improved by the precision of the control.
Voltage fluctuations in the supply networks are naturally compensated for.
For devices for standard applications, the basic configuration is carried out by the manufacturer during the final inspection.
The basic configuration determines the basic properties of the pole-reversal control unit for controlling the magnet. A distinction is made between the magnet types (electric, electropermanent and neodymium magnets) and the nominal voltage of the magnet. Another basic setting is the number of selectable adhesive force levels via the adhesive force inputs.
With the easy-to-perform calibration process, the device is adapted to the respective magnet.
The current is controlled in accordance with the set adhesive force level and the set nominal voltage.
15 different program cycles are available for demagnetization for electric and electro permanent magnets.
For special applications, the pole-reversal control unit can also be configured or adjusted using a monitor program available as an accessory.
